虚構移動 (fictive motion) は、移動を表す語句を、移動していない事物の位置や形状を表すために用いる表現。

Functions

空間における変化を起点領域、空間における位置・形状を目標領域と解釈すると、虚構移動表現は、隠喩・メタファー (metaphor)の一種であると言える。これに対して、Langacker (1991) は、虚構移動は、実際の移動に潜在的に付随している、心的な移動（スキャニング）が顕在化したものであるとしている。この意味で、虚構移動には主観化 (subjectification) 関係している。
